Abstract: Over the past decade, Czech legal scholarship has achieved considerable success in securing grants from European institutional support. However, even today, the Czech Science Foundation remains not only the primary source of financial support for Czech legal academics, but the projects it awards also enjoy a considerable reputation in the academic community. This article aims to build on Robert Zbíral’s nearly decade-old article on the support of legal projects by the Czech Science Foundation. Its ambition is to briefly outline the status of the P408 Panel on Legal Studies and Political Science, while also arguing that this panel has made significant contributions to the development of legal scholarship over the past period. Ultimately, the article aims to reflect on and respond to the criticisms that have been made of the Panel’s work in public forums.
