AI technocracy as the future of governance: the parliamentary model
Jurisprudence 2/2026 Section: Articles Page: 40-48

Abstract: This article aimed to examine the vision of modern parliaments, in which they would involve AI in their procedures, as a desirable innovation of their standard course. Firstly, it was needful to work with such concepts as politics and democracy, and through their understanding, then find the answer to the question: are AI systems compatible with the political activities of parliament? After analysing the concepts and considering other related facts (the role of parliament or the rules of the constitutional order), I concluded that only the complementary cooperation of a human politician with a certain type of AI tool, honouring the democratic core of politics, is the only safe way out of the situation under study. On the contrary, a political decision-making process completely driven by AI would lead to the denial of principles that arise from such an ingenious and complex process, from whose premises democratic debate within parliament results.
