Abstract: The article deals with the determination of a legal relationship in the field of environmental law as an important legal institute used to protect public interests related to all components of environmental law. Determining the legal relationship in the field of environmental law is most often realized as a part of the individual decision-making process, whereas the predominant form of the act is an administrative decision. The article covers the specifics of a decision on the determination of the legal relationship, as well as the procedural and legal aspects of proceedings, especially the possible methods of proceeding initiation, the principles of establishing the facts, and also the possible enforcement of remedies. The article also discusses the potential application of a decision on the legal relationship regulated as a general institute in the administrative procedure.
