Abstract: This article analyses what the increasing complexity of both the outside world and the legal system itself means for the legal system and what role modern technologies, such as the internet and artificial intelligence, play in this phenomenon. The article argues that there are limits to the entropy and complexity of the legal system and that new technologies can push these limits. The starting point of this article is a systems theory of law based on the sociology of law. The future shape of the legal system is currently very unclear and difficult to predict. This article can help to understand the phenomena of transformation of the legal system in the present and the future.
