Keywords: Constitutional Court, press releases, judicial reputation, openness and transparency of judiciary

Abstract: The paper focuses on the public presentation of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, especially in the form of press releases. The author observes that the Constitutional Court is much more active and open in presenting its decisions to the public compared to other Czech courts. He states that the reason for this lies in the strong need of reputation that both the court and its judges have due to its specific position outside the system of Czech career judiciary and due to different sources of legitimacy of the Constitutional Court compared to other courts. He also observes that the press releases serve some judges more than others to make their decisions publicly known.
